After nearly six decades, Pakistan registered their lowest rating points as they lost the two-Test series to Bangladesh at home. Shan Masood-led side slipped two places to eighth in the latest ICC Test Team rankings. With just 76 rating points, they are now below Sri Lanka and West Indies who have 83 and 77 points respectively.

Bangladesh remained in the ninth place despite the cleansweep against Pakistan. However, they have 66 rating points, 10 less than Pakistan ahead of the two-Test series on Indian soil starting later this month.

This is the lowest Pakistan have been on the ICC Test rankings. The only exception is when they lost their place in the rankings because of insufficient number of matches.

Like the ICC Test rankings, Pakistan are placed eighth in the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 points table as well. They have a percentage of 19.05 with five losses from seven Tests.

Pakistan have not won a Test at home in over three years. In last 10 home Tests, they have suffered six defeats whereas four have ended in a draw. Pakistan will have a chance to improve their ranking when England tour Pakistan for three-Test series in October 2024.
