Alyssa Healy warned that India's decision to prepare spinning tracks could be risky, as Australia also have top-notch spinners in their team for the upcoming tour.

Australia skipper Alyssa Healy said that India would be taking a risk by preparing turning tracks in their upcoming multi-format series against Australia.

The Australia tour of India is set to commence with the only Test at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on December 21. Following the red-ball match, three ODIs will take place at the same venue, and the three T20Is will be hosted at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai.

Healy highlighted that Australia boast quality spinners, including Ash Gardner, Alana King, Georgia Wareham, and Jess Jonassen, all of whom are considered world-class cricketers.

"I'm actually really intrigued to see what sort of wickets they prepare. I think we've got a really, really good spin attack, so do that at your own peril," Healy was quoted as saying to the reporters.

"Don't get me wrong, the Indians have got a strong spin attack as well, but we've got some of the best leg-spinners in the world. We've got Ash Gardner, who took nine wickets on English soil with the ball in hand, so prepare spinning wickets at your own demise," she stated.

"It will be interesting to see if they make it nice and flat, but I haven't played at Wankhede since the IPL exhibition game a couple of years ago, so I'm excited for that experience," Healy added.

Healy recently assumed the role of the full-time captain for the Australia Women's team across formats, following the retirement of the legendary Meg Lanning from international cricket last month.

Australia boast an impressive track record when playing limited-overs cricket on Indian grounds. They have won 35 out of 41 ODIs, losing only six. In the 20-over format, they have won 16 out of 21 T20Is.

Australia have secured victories in all their bilateral series in India, with their most recent 4-1 win occurring in December 2022.
