Priyansh Arya's powerful batting display in the DPL 2024 tournament reached a historic peak when he emulated Yuvraj Singh by hitting six sixes in an over.
In the 12th over of the match, Priyansh decided to accelerate his innings and targeted Manan Bhardwaj. Sensing Bhardwaj's nervousness, Priyansh launched an all-out attack. The over began with a resounding six over long-off, as Priyansh stepped down the pitch and effortlessly dispatched the ball. The second six was a trademark left-hander shot, as he executed a knee-high slap over deep mid-wicket. The third six followed a similar pattern, with Priyansh stepping down the track and powerfully hitting the ball over long-on. With three sixes in a row, Priyansh was on the brink of a historic achievement, and the crowd at the Arun Jaitley Stadium was electrified. The fourth delivery of the over continued the onslaught as the ball sailed out of the park once again. The bowler faced the same fate in the final two deliveries, as Priyansh etched his name in history by becoming the third Indian, after Ravi Shastri and Yuvraj Singh, to hit six sixes in an over.
