REVEALED! Why Shaheen Shah Afridi not included in Pakistan XII for 2nd Test against Bangladesh

Pakistan's red ball head coach Jason Gillespie revealed his conversation with speedster Shaheen Shah Afridi before excluding him from the XII against Bangladesh.

Pakistan have announced their XII member squad for the second Test match against Bangladesh which is scheduled to take place on August 30 at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi. The Cricket board surprised everyone by dropping their premier speedster Shaheen Shah Afridi from the final Test of two-match series. 

 

Shaheen who was blessed with a baby boy while he was featuring for Pakistan in the first Test match had left the camp to visit his family and joined back before the second Test has been dropped because the PCB red ball head coach Jason Gillespie is looking for the best combination for the upcoming Test.

 

“Shaheen missed out this game, I had good conversation with him. He fully understands and appreciates the thinking behind it . We are just looking at what our best combination is for this game and this is way want to go. As I said we will look at conditions in the morning in this side what the exact makeup of our bowling attack looks like” said Gillespie in pre match conference.

He also said that the PCB are seeing an opportunity that allows Shaheen to spend some family time as he blessed with a baby boy. 

 

“Shaheen has been given some feedback. He's had a interesting last couple of weeks. He's a new father and we are seeing a opportunity that allows him to go and spend some time with his family as well. He is working on some things with his bowling to be as effective as he possibly can be. He's working particularly with Azhar Mahmood which is fantastic. We certainly want to see Shaheen at his very best because we know we got” added Gillespie.

 

Pakistan will play the second Test match against Bangladesh on August 30 which will take place at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi.
