India captain Rohit Sharma has hinted that he is not going to retire from ODIs and Test anytime soon. Rohit announced his T20I retirement after winning T20 World Cup title for India.
After leading Team India to a historic T20 World Cup victory in June, captain Rohit Sharma is taking a well-deserved break from cricket. Rohit Sharma's role in the team's success can't be overstated. Not only did he provide brilliant leadership throughout the tournament, but he also led by example with his batting performances. India's dominant run through the competition, culminating in their first T20 World Cup win in 11 years, proved Sharma's exceptional captaincy. He achieved the remarkable feat of guiding the Men in Blue to an undefeated tournament, the first team ever to do so in the T20 World Cup. Their victory came after a thrilling final against South Africa, where India emerged victorious by just seven runs. With the bat, Sharma continued to shine. He finished as India's leading run scorer in the tournament, amassing an impressive 257 runs across eight matches with a belligerent strike rate of 156.70. His highest knock came against Australia in the Super 8 stage, where he blazed a trail with a stunning 92 runs.
Rohit Sharma on retirement plans for ODIs and Tests
While fans were heartbroken by Rohit Sharma's retirement from T20 Internationals after the World Cup win, his decision was understandable.
