Glenn Maxwell's patchy form continued in IPL 2024's Eliminator clash during Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Ahmedabad on May 22. Glenn Maxwell fell for a golden duck and with this he equalled his teammate Dinesh Karthik's unwanted record of most ducks (18) in IPL history. Maxwell returned to the pavilion without opening his account as he fell prey to RR's ace off-spinner R Ashwin and holed out to Dhruv Jurel, who was stationed at long on.

RCB's batting order crumbled early after winning the toss. Openers Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli fell cheaply, and Rajasthan Royals tightened their grip with the dismissal of Glenn Maxwell. The key moment came in the 13th over. Ashwin, brimming with confidence, dismissed both Cameron Green and Maxwell in quick succession. The first ball to Maxwell was a golden duck - a flighted delivery outside off stump that Maxwell misjudged. He lunged forward in an attempt to play the shot but succeeded only in skying the ball. Dhruv Jurel at long on covered a short distance and took a comfortable catch.

RCB ended up postiing a total of 172/8 on the board.
