S Sreesanth makes shocking racism claims against teammates, says ‘All my life I have been…’

Former Indian right-arm pacer S Sreesanth has made a shocking revelation about a troubling aspect of his life. S Sreesanth, who was a member of India’s victorious teams in the 2007 T20 World Cup and the 2011 ODI World Cup, disclosed that he had been labeled a ‘Madrasi’ throughout his life by teammates. The ex-India pacer is originally from Kerela and it’s noteworthy that ‘Madrasi’ is a derogatory term used for people from Southern India, particularly Tamil Nadu.

The revelation came during an episode of 'The Ranveer Show,' where he said that he was constantly going through racist comments.

"All my life I have been.... I can say it. See anything below Bombay was more like Madrasi. I have been hearing it from the time I was playing Under-13 to Under-14 to Under-16 to Under-19. Then we had the Kochi (Tuskers Kerala) team and it was like playing for the country again," Sreesanth said on 'The Ranveer Show'.

 

Sreesanth made his debut for India in October 2005 during an ODI match against Sri Lanka in Nagpur, and he went on to represent the country across all three formats and claimed 169 wickets.

During the same interview, Sreesanth also revealed that the now-defunct Kochi Tuskers Kerala team still owes him his salary. The ex-India pacer played for the team during the 2011 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). However, the team was disbanded before the next season.

 

"They have to pay a lot of money. They still haven't. You should get Muralitharan sir (Muttiah Muralitharan), you should get Mahela (Mahela Jayawardene) and in your show they will only tell you. McCullum was also there, and Jadeja," Sreesanth said.

 

"Please guys, BCCI has literally paid you, I think. Please pay us...anyway whenever you're paying, remember the 18% interest every year. I feel by the time my kid gets married, we will definitely receive the money (laughs). The team was supposed to be three years, and the team got terminated in the first year. I think no one has spoken about it. Even now when the players meet, they talk about it. Not a single international cricket is talking for it.," Sreesanth concluded.
