Safaraz Khan's brother Musheer scores 38-ball century, serves reminder to IPL franchises with 155-run knock embellished with 29 boundaries

Musheer Khan scored a remarkable 155 runs off just 65 balls, including 19 fours and 10 sixes, showcasing his wide array of shots and registered a strike rate of 238.46.

With the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) underway, Sarfaraz Khan's younger brother Musheer Khan went berserk with the bat and served a reminded to all the 10 IPL franchises about his talent. During the MCA Presidents T20 Cup, Musheer walked out to bat for Payyade Sports Club against PJ Hindu Gymkhana and played a splendid knock. Musheer walked out to open the innings alongside his brother Sarfaraz.

Sarfaraz Khan dismissed for just one run

While Sarfaraz failed to make an impact and was dismissed for just one run, Musheer took charge and dominated the bowlers with an explosive display of stroke-making. He scored a remarkable 155 runs off just 65 balls, including 19 fours and 10 sixes, showcasing his wide array of shots and registered a strike rate of 238.46. It took Musheer just 38 balls to complete his century.

Thanks to Musheer's stormy innings, Payyade Sports Club managed to post a formidable total of 249 runs for the loss of three wickets in their 20 overs. Besides Musheer, Bhupen Lalwani also contributed significantly to the team's score, playing an unbeaten knock of 84 runs off 49 balls, which included 9 fours and 3 sixes. Musheer's onslaught put the opposing team under considerable pressure.

Musheer - a rising star in Indian cricket

At just 19 years old, Musheer has already made significant contributions to whichever side he has represented. He played a pivotal role in Mumbai winning the Ranji Trophy for the 42nd time. Over three matches, he amassed a total of 433 runs, highlighted by his unbeaten innings of 203 runs against Baroda in the quarterfinal and a stellar 136-run performance against Vidarbha in the final.

Musheer Khan's recent performances in the MCA Presidents Cup puts him in prime position to be picked up by a IPL franchise in case they need a replacement signing in the next two months. Not to forget that Musheer is more than capable left-arm spinner and thus is all-round ability might bode well for any IPL franchise.
