'Aap chahe Virat Kohli, Babar Azam dance kare': Ex-PAK player slams strike-rate critics ahead of IND vs PAK clash
Former Pakistan cricketer Salman Butt has slammed Virat Kohli and Babar Azam's strike rate critics in T20 cricket. He praised their consistency in the format.
Former Pakistan cricketer Salman Butt has slammed the strike rate critics and said that each player, be it from any country has their own style of playing, and comparing it with other players is extremely unfair. He also said that the players have found their spot in the team because of their capabilities. Recently there have been a lot of debates around the strike rates of Virat Kohli and Babar Azam in T20s.
Salman Butt slams strike rate critics
Virat Kohli and Babar Azam have been the targets of criticism over their strike rate. However, Salman Butt has bagged them on the basis of their consistency.
"Strike rate is the result of a process and that process is to bat according to merit. After playing for a long time, a batter has an answer to every delivery and that becomes a part of their muscle memory. But people who don't have an average of 30 in international cricket and have never played outside Asia are speaking about strike rate," Butt said while speaking on a show.
"Babar is absolutely right in saying that neither can he bat like Saim, nor can Saim bat like him. Babar is the one who will score on nine out of 10 occasions, exactly what Kohli does for India. Aap chahe Kohli dance kare, Babar dance kare to Michael Jackson lage, gaana gayein to Noor Jahan lage, ye nahi ho sakta," Butt added.
