Ex-IND cricketer counts out Pakistan pacers Mohammad Amir, Shaheen Afridi as threat to India in T20 World Cup 2024, says 'don't think this is a problem'

All eyes are on the upcoming edition of the T20 World Cup 2024 which is set to be held in the United States and West Indies, from June 2, and amidst that the Indian vs Pakistan clash at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York, on June 9 (Sunday) has all buzz around it. Ahead of the big clash, former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar has counted out star PAK pacers Mohammad Amir and Shaheen Afridi as a threat to the Indian team in the mega tournament.

Manjrekar does not see Pakistan or its pacer posing a threat to the Men in Blue side in the marquee event. He believes their star pacers Shaheen and Amir are not as lethal as used to be and they had to lose one-sided matches against India in the last couple of contests including the ODI World Cup 2023.

"Mohammed Amir played his last international T20 seven years back. We have no idea what his form is like today. Shaheen Afridi is not the same bowler that he was two years ago. India have handled him really well, if you remember the Asia Cup, even in the 50-overs World Cup we had a one-sided match. I do not see Pakistan as a major threat to India, plus the names (of) Mohammed Amir and Shaheen Shah Afridi. I do not think this is a problem for India," Manjrekar said on Star Sports' Press Room World Cup edition.
