Lucknow Super Giants owner Sanjiv Goenka hosted LSG captain KL Rahul for a dinner in Delhi following the controversial outburst after an embarrassing 10-wicket loss against Sunrisers Hyderabad in match 57 of the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, on May 8. The picture surfaced ahead of LSG's big clash against Delhi Capitals.

Sanjiv Goenka's damage control after public outburst

Sanjiv Goenka was on the receiving end of heavy backlash and criticism from fans and the cricket fraternity alike. Many suggested him to have done that inside closed doors instead of scolding his team captain publically. Now almost a week later, Goenka's step to host Rahul appears to be just an attempt to control the damage. A few days back, the LSG owners even turned off his Instagram comment section as he was at the receiving end of a lot of criticism.

Earlier, there were also rumours of sacking Rahul as the LSG skipper. However, the picture seemingly has changed with this latest episode in this story.

LSG to face DC

LSG is still alive in the playoff race with two more league-stage matches. They are currently in the seventh spot on the points table with 12 points. They need to win both their remaining games by a big margin and hope CSK lose their upcoming game against RCB to have better chances at making it into the playoffs.

Lucknow is set to face Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. This is DC's last match and they would try to pick up a massive win here. The happy news for them is the return of Rishabh Pant, who couldn't play the game against RCB due to suspension
