Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan on August 24 announced his retirement from all forms of cricket. After hanging his boots, Dhawan hopes that his son Zoraver who he has not met for a long time gets to know about the news.

“Zoravar is 11 now. I hope he gets to know about my retirement and all about my cricket journey. But more than as a cricketer, I would like for Zoraver to remember me as a good human being who does good deeds and brings positivity to people around him,” Dhawan told Hindustan Times in an interview.

Dhawan’s son Zoraver is living with his ex-wife Ayesha Mukherjee. Dhawan has often talked about how tough it is to stay away from his son and get robbed of the opportunity to see him grow.

“It’s been a year since I saw you in person, and now, for almost three months, I’ve been blocked from everywhere so Posting the same picture to wish you, my boy, a very Happy Birthday,” the southpaw wrote.
