WATCH - Shreyas Iyer's epic dance with IPL 2024 trophy after win against SRH in Final goes viral

It was a day for celebration for the Kolkata Knight Riders as they won their third Indian Premier League title after waiting 10 years. KKR defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 8 wickets in dominant fashion to win the latest edition of the IPL. The whole Knights camp was celebrating this big victory and the fever did not leave their head even when they reached the hotel lobby from the ground. Captain Shreyas Iyer was also seen dancing with the IPL 2024 trophy.

Shreyas became the second KKR captain to win an IPL trophy after their mentor Gautam Gambhir and he was a whole different vibe after successfully leading his side to an astonishing season. KKR posted a video of their captain dancing with the IPL trophy as he entered the hotel and grooved with fans waiting there. The video is now going viral across the social space at a rapid pace.

Shreyas Iyer on winning IPL 2024

KKR bowling first bowled out SRH on 113 runs, the lowest IPL Final score. Then chased it down in just 10.3 overs to win their third IPL title. It was a totally dominant performance from the Knights and also their third win over Hyderabad this season. Iyer was extremely happy with this win and it was visible in post-match speech.

He said "Absolutely comprehensive. This is what we demanded from the team and every individual. They stood up to the right occasion and the feeling is hard to express. It (wait) was so long, longer than the match. We played like invincibles throughout the season. There's so much to cherish right now. It is pleasing, the performance has been flawless throughout. I am running out of words right now. We have been tremendous from game one, we stepped up today. All we demanded from ourselves was to back each other whatever the situation is. The game could have either way. They have been playing phenomenal cricket  - SRH - throughout the season."

 

"We were lucky to bowl first and every situation went in our favour. Thanks to SRH the way they played. Looking forward to play more competitive cricket. (On Starc) That's when all the big players stand up, right! It was a high-pressure game and he's been so good off the field. He's never shown any complacency in his work ethics. He stepped up to the right occasion. He's got that magic wand (on Russell), he's looking forward to pick wickets. When I look at him, I know he can look at me. All the guys stepped up at the right time. Made it easier. It has been a flawless season," he added.
