Shubman Gill-led India will travel to Zimbabwe on this date along with VVS Laxman
Shubman Gill-led team India will travel to Zimbabwe on July 1 for the five T20I series which is scheduled to start from July 6.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India has announced India's squad for the upcoming 5-match T20I series against Zimbabwe which is scheduled to start from July 6. Shubman Gill will lead Men in Blue for the upcoming T20Is. Senior players like of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are rested for the series and current India head coach Rahul Dravid also won't be available for the series because his tenure will end after the ongoing T20 World Cup.
Current NCA head VVS Laxman will reportedly travel to Zimbabwe to coach team India for the five-match T20I series along with his support staff at the National Cricket Academy.
“There is a possibility that Laxman along with some of the NCA coaches will travel with the new look squad to Zimbabwe. Laxman and the NCA team has always filled up whenever Rahul Dravid and the first team coaches have been taking periodic breaks during their stint,” a BCCI source told PTI on conditions of anonymity.
Shubman Gill & Co. will travel to Zimbabwe a day after the final of the T20 World Cup, the will reportedly travel on July 1.
"Some players from the camp have already left for Chennai to participate in the ongoing first division league while others are likely to head home on Tuesday. Both Riyan Parag and Dhruv Jurel, named in India’s T20I squad and part of the camp, have checked out of the NCA during the weekend and are likely to spend close to a week at Rajasthan Royals’ high-performance center in Talegaon" reported News 18.

“Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson, Rinku Singh and Khaleel Ahmed’s travel schedule will be finalised after the end of India’s T20 World Cup campaign. If the Men in Blue play the final on June 29, the four players are likely to fly directly from West Indies to Zimbabwe” addded report.
