Rohit Sharma-led Indian cricket team is getting ready to compete in the upcoming edition of the T20 World Cup 2024 with a warm-up clash against Bangladesh, on June 1 (Saturday). After which they will have to start their main campaign with the match against Ireland at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York, on June 5. Ahead of the mega tournament, the former Chennai Super Kings captain Suresh Raina has warned Team India about underestimating any team.

Suresh Raina to Team India

The CSK legend Suresh Raina praised the Indian team and believes they have an amazing set of players. However, he did tell them not to take any team lightly as it was there first time playing there.

“Rohit is the captain and the batters, bowlers, and all-rounders in the team are amazing. Whereas if we look at the group stage, the big competition is between India and Pakistan. But other teams cannot be taken lightly either. We have never played in America so anything can happen. But the confidence of Team India has increased a lot,” Suresh Raina told Sports Tak.

Rohit Sharma on Nassau County International Cricket Stadium

Rohit Sharma visited Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York and talked about understanding the conditions of the ground before the upcoming edition of the T20 World Cup 2024 as this is the first time they will be playing there.

"It looks beautiful. It's quite an open ground. When we come here and play our first game, I just can't wait to feel the atmosphere in the stadium. It's a decent capacity as well. Hopefully it's gonna be a good one. We’re looking to understand the conditions more importantly (before the tournament proper) as we haven’t been here before," said Rohit Sharma.

"(We will) try and make the most of the conditions, get used to what it’s going to be like on June 5 when we play our first game. It’s just about getting into that rhythm of getting the feel of the ground, pitch and stuff like that. People in New York will be very interested in coming and watching the World Cup, with the World Cup happening for the first time here. I'm pretty sure all the fans across the various teams are quite excited and looking forward to this tournament. And also as players can't wait to get started," he added.
