'The day he realises that...': Ravi Shastri suggest KL Rahul to come with this mindset

Former India captain Ravi Shastri suggests KL Rahul realise his talent during India vs Bangladesh 1st Test match.

Former India head coach Ravi Shastri reckons that KL Rahul needs to realise his talent to regain his form. India wicketkeeper batter KL Rahul is currently featuring in the 1st Test match against Bangladesh where he scored 16 and 22* runs in the first Test match at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. KL Rahul is currently going through a rough patch in his career, he last scored a Test century in the Test series during India's tour of South Africa. 

 

KL Rahul had a short stay at the crease during the third day and scored 22 runs facing 19 balls. India declared their 2nd innings at a total of 287/4 in the 2nd session before tea. Shastri who is currently busy in commentary duties went on air to to hail the batter. 

 

"KL Rahul needs to realise that he has got much of talent. The day he realises that and comes out with a mindset and thinking in that fashion. He will be a different player," Shastri said in on-air commentary.

 

With his 22 runs unbeaten knock, KL completed a milestone of 8000 runs in international cricket for India. Interestingly, he reached the achievement in his 200th appearance for India.

India's Rishabh Pant and Shubman Gill smashed centuries which helped India to put 287 runs on board before declaring the innings. Rohit Sharma-led side managed to take a lead of mammoth 514 runs. Gill (119 not out, 176b, 10x4, 4x6) and Pant (109, 128b, 148m, 13x4, 4x6) led the hosts’ run glut with an alliance of 167 off 217 balls for the fourth wicket.

 

Shadman Islam (21) and Zakir Hasan (32) were at the crease for Bangladesh when tea was taken. While writing this copy, Bangladesh are 81/1 and Jasprit Bumrah got the first breakthrough for hosts picking Zakir Hasan's wicket.
