Hardik Pandya played an unbeaten knock of 40 runs in the recently concluded India's T20 World Cup 2024 only warm-up match against Bangladesh at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York. Recently, Pandya was seen struggling in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Hardik revealed how he dealt with the criticism he faced during the recently concluded IPL. He said that he doesn't take his success too seriously.

Hardik Pandya on criticism

"I don't take my successes too seriously. Whatever I have done well, I have forgotten about them immediately and moved forward. Same with difficult times," he said. “I don't run away from it. I face everything with [my] chin up,” Hardik told Star Sports.

"As they say, this too shall pass. So coming out [of these phases] is simple: just play the sport, accept that [you need to] maybe get better at your skillset, keep working hard - hard work never goes to waste - and keep smiling."

“I am in that zone right now [where] I am going and asking the 16-year-old [self] - because he is my actual motivator, because if that guy hadn't set the platform I probably wouldn't have been here”

"At the same time these things happen; there are good times and bad times, these are phases that come and go. That is fine. I have gone through these phases many times and I will come out of it as well," he concluded.

Hardik's criticism started when the all-rounder joined Mumbai Indians (MI) and replaced Rohit Sharma as team's captain. This social media heat against Pandya doubled up when five-time champions MI became the first team to get eliminated from the tournament.

Pandya will be Rohit Sharma's deputy for Team India in the T20 World Cup 2024.

Talking about the warm-up match against Bangladesh, beside his stellar knock, Hardik bowled three over against Bangladesh and got one wicket while conceding 30 runs in India's winning cause. Team India will now face Ireland for their T20 World Cup 2024 opener clash which will take place at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium on June 5.
