Pakistan cruised into Under-19 World Cup semifinals after pulling off a stunning five-run victory against Bangladesh in their Super Six match in Benoni on February 3. It was Naseem Shah's young brother Ubaid Shah, who rode on his superlative fifer to thwart Bangladesh from chasing down a lowly target of 156.

The match commenced with Bangladesh choosing to bowl, putting Pakistan's openers, Shamyl Hussain and Shahzaib Khan, on a cautious start until Md Rohanat Doullah Borson disrupted their flow. Borson bowled Shamyl with an inswinging delivery and quickly bagged another wicket with a bouncer that Azan Awais nicked to the wicketkeeper.

Pakistan's captain, Saad Baig, was run out by a direct hit, leaving Pakistan in a precarious position at 66 for three. The fall continued with Sheikh Paevez Jibon and Borson taking more wickets, reducing Pakistan to 89 for six. A significant stand between Arafat Minhas and Ali Asfand, adding 43 runs, brought some stability, but Pakistan was eventually all out for 155, setting Bangladesh a target of 156 within 38.1 overs.

Ubaid Shah led Pakistan's bowling attack with vigor, dismissing the Bangladeshi openers early and setting a defensive tone. Despite efforts by Ariful Islam and Chowdhury Md Rizwan to recover, Pakistan's bowlers, including Ali Raza, maintained pressure.

Bangladesh's batting order couldn't withstand Pakistan's persistent bowling, with Ubaid Shah capturing the spotlight by taking five wickets, despite dropping a catch. His haul included the crucial dismissal of Shihab James, anchoring Bangladesh's innings. The subsequent wicket of Bangladesh's captain Mahfuzur further tightened Pakistan's control.

In a challenging situation, Bangladesh's lower order, led by Borson and Maruf Mridha, edged closer to the target. A six by Borson off Minhas ignited hope, but Mohammad Zeeshan clinched the match for Pakistan by dismissing Maruf.

This win propels Pakistan into the semi-finals alongside India, Australia, and South Africa, setting up a match against Australia on February 8th. The first semi-final will feature India versus South Africa on February 6th, promising an enthralling cricket spectacle.
