'Virat Kohli ke joote barabar bhi nahi hai': Ex-Pakistan cricketer slams Babar Azam for embarrassing loss against USA

Former Pakistan spinner Danish Kaneria slammed Pakistan cricket team ahead of the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 clash against India which is scheduled to be played at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. Kaneria also bashed those fans who compare Pakistan skipper Babar Azam with Virat Kohli in terms of batting. 

Kaneria reckoned that Babar was struggling against the bowlers of the United States in their opener clash. Which ended in a shocking defeat as they lost the clash in a super over thriller.

“Babar Azam, people talk a lot about it, the way they run it, the next day it comes in the media, compare it with Virat Kohli. The shoes don't even come out properly. The USA bowlers had trapped him, he was not running. Absolutely. He had his own runs, 40-44, after that he said, he got fired after that, what happened? He should have played. Pakistan should have won this one-sided match” Kaneria told IANS. 

 

Kaneria also said that the Babar Azam-led team went to the USA for a family holiday. They are not serious about the ongoing T20 World Cup.

“Pakistan cricket team is a joke, not serious about  T20 World Cup, just holidaying in US with family” added Kaneria. 

 

Coming back to the upcoming clash, India are coming after registering a comfortable victory in their opener clash against Ireland and Pakistan lost their opener clash in a super over thriller against USA.

 

The game against India is important for Pakistan as a loss against arch-rivals could see them lose out on a spot in the Super 8 of the tournament with USA being better poised than the Men in Green.
 

Kaneria also said that the Pakistan T20 World Cup team is based on families and relatives. 

 

“Their ego never ends, their intentions are not clear. They form teams based on families and relatives, no one thinks about the country. This is not how a team is made. If you’re being unfair to players’ careers then this is what will happen. What happened with Pakistan in the first game was always going to happen,”Kaneria concluded.
