Indian batting maestro Virat Kohli has supported Rohit Sharma's opinion on the impact player rule and said that it has reached a point where bowlers fear that every ball might get hit for a six or four. The impact sub-rule has been facing a lot of criticism from the cricket fraternity as it is pushing the bowlers into the corner and taking all-rounders out of contention.

Rohit on Impact player rule

Rohit Sharma recently expressed his disagreement with the impact player rule. He supported his statement by saying that the game is played with 11 players, not 12. He also spoke on how this rule is not allowing players like Shivam Dube and Washington Sundar to showcase their bowling skills.

"I am not a big fan of Impact sub rule. It is going to hold all rounders back, eventually cricket is played by 11 players not 12 players. You are taking out so much from game to make it entertaining for people around. If you look just from the cricketing aspect of it I feel guys like Shivam Dube and Washington Sundar aren't getting to bowl, which for us is not a good thing," Rohit said on 'Club Prairie Fire' podcast.

Virat Kohli also supported Rohit's statement and said that not every team consist of Jasprit Bumrah and Rashid Khan. He even acknowledged Jay Shah's comments stating they will review it.

"I agree with Rohit about Impact player rule - I feel like the game has reached a point where bowlers feel like every ball is 6 or 4 - this is high level cricket, it shouldn't be too dominant - not every team has Bumrah/Rashid, I know Jay Bhai has mentioned that they will be reviewing it," said Kohli on Jio Cinema.
