WATCH - Crowd chants 'Kohli Kohli' as Virat enters the ground ahead of warm-up match against Bangladesh

Rohit Sharma confirmed that Virat Kohli will miss the T20 World Cup 2024 warm up match against Bangladesh. However, he was spotted at the venue along with the team.

India star batter Virat Kohli has reached the newly constructed Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York along with the Indian cricket team ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024 warm-up clash against Bangladesh. Indian fans in the United States started cheering for the former India captain during his arrival at the venue. 

 

However, Kohli will not feature in the warm-up match, and apart from him the whole team will feature against Bangladesh.

While writing this copy, India captain Rohit Sharma has won the toss and opted to bat. Indian captain confirmed that Kohli has arrived yesterday and will miss out the clash. 

 

“We will bat. Not for any particular reason, conditions here look a bit challenging. Virat has just arrived yesterday, he's going to miss out, the rest are all available and we'll see how to use them. We arrived quite early, so the body clock has adjusted, we just have to see how well we can adjust to these conditions” said Rohit at Toss.

 

On the other hand, Bangladesh skipper Najmul Shanto said that the team will play with 13 players. Taskin Ahmed and Mustafizur Rahman have been rested. 

 

“We would have bowled, we'll have to adjust the conditions and I want to know how the bowlers do. The boys have enjoyed themselves so far here, we are going to play with 13 players - Taskin and Mustafizur have been rested” Shanto at toss.
