Indian captain Rohit Sharma added a touch of humor to the ongoing second ODI against Sri Lanka in Colombo on August 4. When spinner Washington Sundar got stuck twice while his bowling run-up, Rohit playfully threatened to give him a dressing down. The light-hearted exchange entertained fans watching the match.

A curious incident unfolded during the 33rd over of Sri Lanka's innings. After a failed review to dismiss Janith Liyanage, Washington Sundar unexpectedly withdrew from bowling the second ball. This marked the second instance of Sundar removing himself from the bowling attack, prompting a playful response from captain Rohit Sharma.

Rohit Sharma, stationed at first slip, reacted humorously to Sundar's second failed attempt to deliver the bowl as he got stuck during his bowling run-up. The Indian captain playfully threatened the spinner to beat him as he charged towards him, adding a light-hearted moment to the game. Known for his on-field antics, Rohit's sense of humor brought laughter to the Indian camp.

Despite the playful exchange, Sundar has been a key contributor with the ball, claiming three crucial wickets in the match. India, backed by Sundar's bowling, have reduced Sri Lanka to 195/6 for six after 44.4 overs.

Sri Lanka skipper Charith Asalanka, after winning the toss, said:

“We will bat first. I think so, it's looks similar to the other day. Not much as a different as a captain for this game. Kamindu and Vandersay come in for Hasaranga and Shiraz”

Meanwhile, India captain Rohit Sharma, after losing the toss, said:

 

"It's okay (on having to chase again), we know what to expect when we chase. It has to be. You cannot always go and play with the same mindset and same way. You got to adapt to the conditions and then play freely. That's the most important thing (to play with freedom) we want to do as a team. Same XI. Not really worried we didn't pull off the last game. Both teams played well, result not going in favour was fair for that game."
