Check the full list of award winners in the 2024 Women's Premier League (WPL). From Orange Cap winner and Purple Cap winner to the Most Valuable Player award.
The second edition of the Women's Premier League (WPL) concluded on March 17 (Sunday) with the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) triumphing over the Delhi Capitals (DC) in the final to win their maiden title. Smriti Mandhana's team secured an eight-wicket victory at the Arun Jaitley Stadium to end the franchise's title drought. Sophie Molineux was awarded the Player of the Match award for her stupendous effort with the ball that turned the match around.
With the 2024 season of the WPL coming to a close, let's take a look at the award-winners of the tournament.
Women's Premier League 2024 Champions
The Royal Challengers Bangalore won the second edition of the WPL and secured a prize money of Rs 6 crore.
WPL 2024: Orange Cap Winner
Royal Challengers Bangalore's superstar all-rounder Ellyse Perry won the Orange Cap for scoring the most runs in the competition. The right-handed batter scored 347 runs in nine innings at an average of 69.40 and a strike rate of 125.72.
WPL 2024: Purple Cap Winner
Royal Challengers Bangalore's off-spinner Shreyanka Patil won the Purple Cap for picking the most wickets in the tournament. Shreyanka bagged 13 wickets in eight matches.
WPL 2024: Most Valuable Player (MVP)
UP Warriorz's Deepti Sharma won the Most Valuable Player award for her all-rounder exploits in the tournament. Deepti scored 295 runs in eight matches at an average of 98.33 and a strike rate of 136.57. With the ball, she bagged 10 wickets in eight matches.
WPL 2024: Emerging Player of the tournament
Royal Challengers Bangalore's off-spinner Shreyanka Patil won the Emerging Player of the Season award.
Most Sixes
Delhi Capitals' Shafali Verma won the award for striking the most sixes in the tournament. The right-handed opening batter smoked 20 sixes in nine matches.
Best Strike Rate
Royal Challengers Bangalore's Georgia Wareham bagged the award for the best strike rate in the tournament. Wareham scored 111 runs at a strike rate of 163.24.
Best Catch
Mumbai Indians' Sajeevan Sajana bagged the award for taking the best catch in the competition.
WPL 2024: Fair Play Award
Royal Challengers Bangalore also won the Fair Play Award along with the title.
