The curse is finally over. The 16-year title drought has ended. Bengaluru is a city of champions. The clarion call of 'ee sala cup namde' has turned into reality. The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) women's team achieved a feat that the men's team had failed to secure in the last 16 years. RCB defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) by eight wickets to win the Women's Premier League (WPL) competition on March 16 (Sunday). The RCB women's team got their hands on the glittering silverware in just the second edition of the competition.

After Smriti Mandhana's team reigned supreme at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, emotions ran high in both camps. While it was tears of joy in the RCB's dugout, it was heartbreak and dejection for the Delhi players.
