Dhanashree Verma, choreographer and wife of India's star cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal, has spoken out about the negativity she faces on social media. In a recent interview, she boldly took a stand against the online trolls, albeit admitted their impact on her family and loved ones.

Dhanashree has become a target for some social media users, particularly regarding her online interactions. Critics have taken issue with pictures she posts with male friends, including a recent one with choreographer Pratik Utekar.  This image, along with her friendly behavior with other cricketers like Shreyas Iyer, has drawn criticism from fans who feel it's inappropriate.

The online negativity has even extended to accusations of influencing Chahal's cricket performance. Some fans believe her actions have contributed to a recent decline in his form, leading to him being dropped from the Indian team. Dhanashree Verma, facing a wave of online criticism, has finally addressed the issue. In a recent Instagram video, she acknowledged that while she's typically unbothered by trolls, the recent negativity has significantly impacted her family life.

This time it has affected me: Dhanashree

“How are you feeling about this? It’s that simple to ask and be a human first, than to put forward certain verdicts or opinions. I have never in my life been affected by trolls or memes. This definitely had a lot of maturity or ignoring or laughing it out loud until this very recent troll occurred. The reason it has affected me this time is because it has affected my family and my near and dear ones. Since you all have the freedom on social media platforms to speak your heart out you tend to forget or choose to ignore the sentiments of us and our family,” Dhanashree said in her insta video.

Dhanashree Verma further explained that the online harassment became overwhelming, forcing her to take a break from social media. However, given her profession's reliance on these platforms, she felt compelled to return, despite the negativity.

“So, this led to the decision of detox from social media and trust me, it was very peaceful. But it is also may we realise that if we make this medium so negative, then all we are doing is spreading hate and disharmony on a large scale. Social media is a major part of my work and I can’t give up, which is why I have gathered courage and come back on Instagram,” she continued.

Verma concluded her message with a plea for online kindness. She urged fans to be more considerate on social media, emphasizing that negativity has a real impact on people's lives.  She encouraged them to spread positivity and support instead.

“Just requesting you guys to be a little more sensitive and focus on our talents and skills as at the end of the day, we are all here in this medium just to entertain you guys. So, just don’t forget that I am also just a woman, just like your mother, sister, friend, wife and this is not done, and it’s not fair. And I am known as a fighter and I never give up. Here I am and I am not going to give up again. But spread love, be sensitive about a few things and don’t spread hate. I really hope that from here onwards we are all going to focus on the good things and move ahead in life,” Dhanashree concluded.
