Indian double Olympics medallist Manu Bhaker revealed that she had an accident in Paris while riding a scooter during her pre-Olympics Camp. Manu revealed that she went to Paris before the Olympics to get accommodated to the entire weather and during that time she went out for a scooter ride with her friend and it started raining. She got confused about whether to use brakes or not but then at the last moment she pulled the brakes so because of an emergency break their scooter skidded on the road.

In the exclusive conversation in IndiaToday's conclave Manu revealed that she hid that accident from her coach as well.

“So, I'm a little bit clumsy, okay? So, last year we went to France, we went to Paris to get accommodated to the entire weather. The ranges, the lighting of the ranges and all. So we went out, me and my friend on a scooty and it started to rain. Then we were on this road and then it got really slippery. Then I saw this red light and I did not know whether to put brakes in the scooty or not. I mean for general traffic and cars we have to brake. But for Scooty, I was very confused. And then the last moment, I was like, let's just pull a break. And I pulled that, and it was a full skid, and then we fell. My left elbow, my left thigh, everything was injured really badly. And the funny thing is that there was this cafe in front of which we had this fall. They were like, you know what, please. Please, we have made room for you, please sit here. You want anything, ice, water, food, you just let us know. So yeah, that happened. This was how many days before the… But I did not tell him. I came to know about this incident because when we were driving through that particular hotel and I don't know from where she said, Oh, here we had fallen” said Manu Bhaker.

Manu Bhaker has truly made history with her remarkable achievements at such a young age. She became the first Indian to win two medals at the same Olympics, showcasing her extraordinary talent and determination.

In the 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team event, Bhaker and her partner Sarabjot Singh secured a bronze medal, defeating South Korea's Lee Wonho and Oh Ye Jin with a score of 16-10.

Bhaker also opened India’s medal tally by clinching third place in the women's individual 10m air pistol event, making her the first female shooter from India to win an Olympic medal. This achievement was followed by the duo’s success in the mixed team event, marking India’s first-ever shooting team medal.

In her final event, she narrowly missed out on an unprecedented third medal, finishing fourth in the women's 25m pistol shooting event. Despite this near miss, her performance at the Olympics has left an indelible mark in Indian sports history.
