'It is not easy to leave sports...': Vinesh Phogat indicates U-turn from wrestling retirement

Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat indicated that she will make her comeback in wrestling after announcing retirement following Olympics disqualification.

Indian star wrestler Vinesh Phogat has indicated that she will take a retirement U-Turn from women's wrestling. After disqualifying from the Paris Olympics 2024 the star wrestler said goodbye to wrestling. Vinesh was the first-ever Indian female wrestler to qualify for the final of Paris Olympics. She got disqualified from the games after found 100 grams overweight ahead of the final. 

 

After disqualifying from the Games, Vinesh Phogat had appealed for a shared silver medal after being disqualified from the Olympic final. But the Court of Arbitration for Sport rejected her plea. While asked about her retirement U-turn she said it is not easy to say goodbye to the sport at the felicitation ceremony of Khap Panchayat.

 

"Thoughts are going on in my mind about sports, it is not easy to leave sports. She appealed to the youth to have an inclination towards sports" said Vinesh

 

 

Vinesh celebrated her birthday among the villagers in village, she cut a cake with people. While asked about her medal setback, she revealed her dream of winning the gold medal in the Paris Olympics 2024. 

 

“My dream was of gold in Paris Olympics, I am completely satisfied with what I got” added Vinesh.

Earlier, Vinesh's husband Somvir Rathee said that he will not convince her wife to take a U-turn from her wrestling retirement because their is no one standing with her. 

 

“I have seen that for the last two years, we have no federation, we have no one. We have seen everything, no one has been standing. If there is no one standing with a player, what can the player do? It is impossible for us, it will not happen to the world” Vinesh Phogat's husband
