After a six-month hiatus following his relinquishment of the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania XL, Roman Reigns is set to make a roaring return to WWE television. The former champion will re-enter the ring at next month’s Bad Blood 2024 premium live event, where he will team up with WWE Champion Cody Rhodes for an intriguing tag team bout.

Tag Team

The match will feature an unexpected pairing as Reigns joins forces with Rhodes to face Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu of The Bloodline. This surprising team-up comes on the heels of a significant event that transpired during last night’s SmackDown season premiere on the USA Network.

In the opening bout of the evening, Cody Rhodes defended his WWE Championship against Solo Sikoa inside a steel cage. Rhodes emerged victorious, but the post-match festivities took a contentious turn. Following his win, Rhodes was ambushed by Jacob Fatu and other members of The Bloodline, prompting Reigns to make a dramatic return to assist Rhodes.

After dealing with Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa, Reigns faced off with Fatu in a tense staredown. Despite the high tension, no physical altercation occurred as Fatu was pulled away by Sikoa before the confrontation could escalate.

WWE confirmed Reign's comeback

The announcement of the tag team match came from SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis during an interview with Cathy Kelley. Aldis revealed that Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu had issued a challenge to Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes for the Bad Blood event.

Initially, Cody Rhodes was reluctant to accept, stating his desire to move on from The Bloodline. However, in the main event segment of SmackDown, tensions flared as Roman Reigns declared he didn’t need a contract or a partner to maintain his status as The Tribal Chief.

Rhodes and Reigns were on the brink of a confrontation when Solo Sikoa and his allies intervened. Amidst the chaos, Reigns took the contract and signed it, agreeing to the match. Cody Rhodes, initially hesitant, ultimately signed the contract as well, making the tag team match official for Bad Blood.

On October 5th at Bad Blood, fans will witness the unlikely alliance of Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes take on the formidable duo of Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu. This match marks a surprising turn of events, as former rivals Rhodes and Reigns come together to face a common foe, adding an exciting dynamic to the upcoming premium live event.

"Let's just get one thing, straight: whether I have my family's Ula Fala or not, I am The Tribal Chief. And I am not only the Original Tribal Chief, I am the only Tribal Chief. And don't ever get it confused. This is my ring, this is my show, this is my WWE," he said on his return

Roman out from the PWI list?

Pro Wrestling Illustrated (PWI) Insider released their PWI 500 list featuring the top 500 wrestlers all around the world. Roman who topped the list for consecutive six years has been out of the list this year.

Roman Reigns’ absence from the 2024 PWI 500 list, where he had previously dominated the rankings from 2016 to 2022 and was in the #2 spot last year, has surprised many WWE fans.

Kevin McElvaney from PWInsider clarified on X/Twitter that Reigns did not make the list due to his limited number of singles matches during the evaluation period. With only five singles bouts, he fell short of the minimum requirement of ten matches or six matches over six different months
