In a concerning development, confidential security documents related to the forthcoming 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris were reported stolen on Monday (February 26) evening at the Gare du Nord railway station, according to AFP. This unsettling event unfolded when an engineer from Paris City Hall, carrying a bag with a computer and two USB drives containing sensitive security plans, became a victim of theft.
The incident occurred on February 26, as the engineer was transitioning trains due to a delay, during which the crucial items were taken from the luggage compartment above his seat.

Tight security planned for Paris Olympics
The security framework for the Paris Olympics is extensive, with daily deployment of approximately 35,000 security personnel, supplemented by 2,000 municipal police officers dedicated to ensuring the games' safety. Scheduled from July 26 to August 11, the Olympics will span several locations around Paris, including Les Yvelines, Hauts-de-Seine, Seine-et-Marne, and Seine-Saint-Denis, showcasing a total of 35 venues for the 24 Olympic sports.

In proximity to the Olympic Village, these venues will host the array of sporting events, underscoring the logistical magnitude of organizing such a global spectacle. The official website of the games highlights the extensive venue list and addresses the high demand for tickets. To manage this, a lottery system will be implemented for ticket allocations. Fans can expect around ten million tickets to be available exclusively through the official website, with prices starting at 24 Euros for the Olympics.
What about the Paralympics?
Furthermore, the Paralympics, set to take place from August 28 to September 8, will follow a similar ticketing procedure, with prices commencing at 15 Euros. This integrated approach aims to streamline the purchasing process and accommodate the vast interest from fans worldwide.
