Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo, partner Georgina announce name of newborn daughter

Manchester United and Portugal superstar Cristiano Ronaldo and his partner Georgina Rodriguez have revealed the name of their newly born daughter - Bella Esmeralda.

In a beautiful Instagram post, Georgina showed the latest addition to the Ronaldo family sleeping peacefully. Soon after the cute photos were posted, the power couple were flooded with messages of congratulations as the post stacked up a plethora of likes on Instagram. 

It was also the first time Georgina has shown fans close-up pictures of young Bella. 

Bella was born on April 18, and the otherwise happy day for any parent turned into a tragic one after Bella's twin brother suffered a neo-natal death at the time of delivery.

The couple revealed last month that their baby boy passed away during the delivery process. The emotional statement announcing the sad news read: "It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that our baby boy has passed away. It is the greatest pain that any parent can feel. Only the birth of our baby girl gives us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness.

"We would like to thank the doctors and nurses for all their expert care and support. We are all devastated at this loss and we kindly ask for privacy at this very difficult time. Our baby boy, you are our angel. We will always love you."

Ronaldo and Georgina shared a family photo after the mother and baby Bella returned home from the hospital. She was barely visible, with the 37-year-old 2016 Euros winner cradling the baby in his arms. 

The Manchester United star dedicated his goal against Arsenal to his son, pointing and looking up to the sky in tribute. The Red Devils went on the lose the match 3-1. 

Ronaldo is already father to Cristiano Jr, 11 and twins Eva and Mateo, 5. Bella is Ronaldo and Georgina's second child together, after the Argentinian model gave birth to Alana Martina, 4, in November 2017.
