Yuki Bhambri and Robin Haase move to quarterfinals 

Another Indian, Yuki Bhambri, and his partner Robin Haase from the Netherlands advanced to the quarterfinals by defeating Kazakhstan's Alexander Bublik and France's Adrian Mannarino 6-7(6) 6-3 10-8 in the round of 16. Yuki and Haase will now face the winners of the match between the Belgian duo Sander Gille and Joran Vliegen and the third-seeded English-Kiwi pair of Jamal Murray and Michael Venus.

Sumit Nagal exits from Dubai Tennis Championships

India's top-ranked men's singles tennis player, Nagal, suffered a defeat in the round of 32 at the Dubai Tennis Championships 2024 against Italy's Lorenzo Sonego on February 27. Nagal fought hard but lost 4-6 7-5 1-6 against the Italian. Sonego's next opponent will be top seed Daniil Medvedev, who defeated Alexander Shevchenko 6-3, 7-5 in his opening match.

Before this, Nagal shared a heartfelt message on social media following his exit from the Australian Open on January 18. Nagal's journey at the Australian Open 2024 ended in the second round, where he faced a challenging four-set loss against China's Juncheng Shang. The Indian tennis player began the tournament on a positive note, making history by becoming the first Indian since Ramesh Krishnan in 1989 to defeat a seeded player at a Grand Slam. Nagal emerged victorious over the 27th seed Alexander Bublik in straight sets, demonstrating his skill and determination.
