Tennis ace Novak Djokovic has vowed to return to court soon after undergoing a successful knee surgery following his withdrawal from French Open 2024.

This injury forced Djokovic to withdraw from the ongoing French Open before a potential quarter-final clash against Casper Ruud.
Djokovic undergoes successful knee surgery, eyes speedy return
The MRI scan revealed the extent of the damage after Djokovic's hard-fought five-set victory over Francisco Cerundolo in the fourth round. The match lasted over 4.5 hours, highlighting the potential cause of the injury. Taking to Instagram, Djokovic expressed his gratitude to the medical team and his fans for their unwavering support. He emphasized his commitment to recovery and a swift return to the court, stating his determination to regain full health and fitness as soon as possible.
"In the past day, I had to make some tough decisions after sustaining a meniscus tear during my last match. I’m still processing it all but I am happy to update you that the surgery went well," Djokovic's post read.
"I am so appreciative of the team of doctors who have been by my side, as well as the overwhelming support I have received from my fans. I’m going to do my best to be healthy and fit to return to the court as soon as possible. My love for this sport is strong and the desire to compete at the highest level is what keeps me going. Idemooo," it added.
Wimbledon in Doubt, Olympics a Possibility for Djokovic
Novak Djokovic's quest for a record-breaking 25th Grand Slam title at Wimbledon faces uncertainty. Reports suggest his knee surgery will require a three-week recovery, putting his participation in the tournament (July 1-14) in serious jeopardy. However, there's a glimmer of hope for the Serbian champion. The men's singles event at the Paris Olympics (July 27-August 4) might be more attainable. This timeframe could potentially allow Djokovic sufficient recovery time to compete. Adding to the Serbian's woes, his withdrawal from the French Open saw him lose his World No. 1 ranking to Jannik Sinner, who reached the tournament's semi-final.
